2 I knew1492 a man444 in Christ5547 above4253 fourteen1180 years2094 ago,4253 (whether1535 in the body,4983 I cannot3756 1492 tell;1492 or1535 whether1535 out of the body,4983 I cannot3756 1492 tell:1492 God2316 knows;1492) such5108 an one caught726 up to the third5154 heaven.3772

4 Er2532 ward entzückt726 in1519 das3739 Paradies3857 und3754 hörete unaussprechliche731 Worte4487, welche kein3756 Mensch444 sagen2980 kann1832.

4 How that he was caught726 up into1519 paradise,3857 and heard191 unspeakable731 words,4487 which3739 it is not lawful1832 for a man444 to utter.2980

5 Davon will ich mich1722 rühmen2744; von5228 mir1683 selbst aber1161 will ich mich3450 nichts3756 rühmen2744 ohne1508 meiner Schwachheit769.

5 Of such5108 an one will I glory:2744 yet1161 of myself1683 I will not glory,2744 but in my3450 infirmities.769

8 For this5127 thing I sought3870 the Lord2962 thrice,5151 that it might depart868 from me.

9 und2532 er hat zu1722 mir3450 gesagt: Laß dir4671 an1909 meiner Gnade5485 genügen714; denn1063 meine3450 Kraft1411 ist2046 in1722 den Schwachen769 mächtig. Darum3767 will ich1691 mich3427 am allerliebsten2236 rühmen2744 meiner Schwachheit769, auf daß2443 die Kraft1411 Christi5547 bei mir3450 wohne1981.

9 And he said2046 to me, My grace5485 is sufficient714 for you: for my strength1411 is made5048 perfect5048 in weakness.769 Most2236 gladly2236 therefore3767 will I rather3123 glory2744 in my infirmities,769 that the power1411 of Christ5547 may rest1981 on me.

10 Darum1352 bin1510 ich gutes Muts2106 in1722 Schwachheiten769, in1722 Schmachen, in1722 Nöten318, in1722 Verfolgungen1375, in1722 Ängsten4730 um5228 Christi5547 willen. Denn5228 wenn3752 ich schwach770 bin, so5119 bin ich stark1415.

10 Therefore1352 I take pleasure2106 in infirmities,769 in reproaches,5196 in necessities,318 in persecutions,1375 in distresses4730 for Christ's5547 sake: for when3752 I am1510 weak,770 then5119 am1510 I strong.1415

11 Ich1473 bin5302 ein Narr878 worden über den Rühmen2744; dazu habt315 ihr5210 mich3165 gezwungen. Denn1063 ich4921 sollte3784 von5259 euch5216 gelobet werden1096, sintemal ich nichts3762 weniger bin1510, denn1063 die hohen3029 Apostel sind; wiewohl1499 ich nichts3762 bin.

12 Truly3303 the signs4592 of an apostle652 were worked2716 among1722 you in all3956 patience,5281 in signs,4592 and wonders,5059 and mighty1411 deeds.1411

13 Welches5101 ist‘s2076, darinnen ihr846 geringer seid2274 denn1063 die3739 andern3062 Gemeinden1577, ohne3756 daß5228 ich1473 selbst euch3754 nicht1508 habe beschweret? Vergebet5483 mir3427 diese5026 Sünde93!

13 For what5101 is it wherein3757 you were inferior2274 to other3062 churches,1577 except1508 it be that I myself was not burdensome2655 to you? forgive5483 me this5026 wrong.93

14 Siehe2400, ich bin2192 bereit2093, zum drittenmal5154 zu4314 euch5209 zu kommen2064, und2532 will euch5216 nicht3756 beschweren2655; denn1063 ich suche2212 nicht3756 das Eure, sondern235 euch5216. Denn1063 es sollen3784 nicht3756 die Kinder5043 den Eltern1118 Schätze sammeln2343, sondern235 die Eltern1118 den Kindern5043.

14 Behold,2400 the third5154 time I am ready2093 to come2064 to you; and I will not be burdensome2655 to you: for I seek2212 not your's 5216but you: for the children5043 ought3784 not to lay2343 up for the parents,1118 but the parents1118 for the children.5043

15 Ich1473 will aber1161 fast gerne25 darlegen und2532 dargelegt werden1550 für5228 eure Seelen; wiewohl1499 ich euch5209 fast sehr4056 liebe25 und doch wenig geliebt werde.

15 And I will very2236 gladly2236 spend1159 and be spent1550 for you; though1499 the more4056 abundantly4056 I love25 you, the less2276 I be loved.25

16 Aber1161 laß also sein2077, daß ich1473 euch5209 nicht3756 habe beschweret, sondern235 dieweil ich tückisch3835 war5225, habe ich euch5209 mit Hinterlist1388 gefangen2983.

18 I desired3870 Titus,5103 and with him I sent4882 a brother.80 Did Titus5103 make4122 a gain4122 of you? walked4043 we not in the same846 spirit?4151 walked4043 we not in the same846 steps?2487

19 Lasset ihr5216 euch3754 abermal dünken, wir verantworten626 uns5228? Wir reden2980 in1722 Christo5547 vor2714 GOtt2316; aber3825 das3956 alles geschieht, meine1380 Liebsten27, euch5213 zur Besserung3619.

21 daß4314 ich nicht3361 abermal komme2064, und2532 mich3165 mein3450 GOtt2316 demütige5013 bei euch5209, und2532 müsse Leid tragen3996 über1909 viele4183, die3588 zuvor gesündiget und2532 nicht3361 Buße3340 getan3340 haben4258 für die3739 Unreinigkeit167 und2532 Hurerei4202 und Unzucht766, die sie getrieben haben4238.

21 And lest,3361 when I come2064 again,3825 my God2316 will humble5013 me among4314 you, and that I shall mourn3996 many4183 which3588 have sinned4258 already,4258 and have not repented3340 of the uncleanness167 and fornication4202 and lasciviousness766 which3739 they have committed.4238
